Guide on how to Add a Custom User Skin to Planes in War Thunder in 3 Simple Steps!
In this simple guide we have provided 3 steps to show you how to add custom user skins to planes in war thunder. With these simple steps you should be able to create a user skin folder for your plane, find the User Skin directory and open/edit the .tga file.
Step 1 - In the main menu click the Customization Button on the plane you wish to create a custom Skin for.
Step 2 - Click the little Magic Wand in order to Create a Sample Folder for your plane Skins
Note: If you haven't created a sample skin for this plane before you should get a message pop up saying 'Created a user skin sample -Template name- in UserSkins folder in game root folder'.
Step 3 - Locate the User Skins folder in your Computer's Directory where the game was installed.
The War Thunder UserSkin directory can be found by going to - Computer>Local Disk>Program Files>War Thunder>UserSkins> Template Name
Look for the File which ends in _a.tga and use an image editing software such as Paint/ Photoshop etc to edit the file. Once you've edited this file you can re-save it back into this folder but make sure the name is the same and it ends in .tga
We will post more guides soon on how to Edit the User Skins and create your own from camouflage skins to Damaged skins.
